I am remembering yesterday’s sunshine.

I am anxious for some warm days because I’ve got some things to paint!

I am marveling that I’ve now written 201 posts on this blog. I’m grateful it’s been such a healthy outlet for me.

I am thankful for my husband who has freely shared his time and help with me over the past few days (and our house is thankful, too).

I am enjoying the sounds of children playing in my home.

I am gearing up mentally for a couple of crazy busy days.

I am enjoying watching my baby try to crawl. When her arms get tired, she puts her head down and scoots on her forehead while pushing with her feet. So funny! I’ll try to get pictures.

Vintage Tablecloth: Roses and Loops

Another tablecloth with roses and a black pattern going around the entire piece. The black has faded to a lovely charcoal gray. I like how the inside pattern consists of circles overlaying one another, while the smaller outside one is made of loops that travel around the edges. (I also like the two cute helpers who insisted on being in the picture!)

This cloth is printed on cotton and a couple of light yellow stains on it. It has a nice heavy drape to it. It measures 43 by 50 inches.

I enjoy the mix of pattern on this tablecloth. The roses combine with the geometric print to make a statement that is neither too bold nor too flowery. I think it’s a great combination. Very pretty!

Rouenneries Quilt… finished!

At last, my quilt is done!

I’ve pieced many quilt tops, but rarely quilt them myself. This one was a learning experience for me because I opted to quilt it myself. It seemed to take forever, but it is finished at last. It is fairly large, about 65 by 90 inches.

The top looks like this:

This quilt is incredibly simple in design, but for some reason I preferred this for the Rouenneries line over a busier pattern. I pieced the back to look like this:

I quilted this in a diamond pattern, and as I expected, ended up with some puckers on the back. After washing it, however, the fabric looks nice and soft and broken in. Broken in seems perfect for fabrics that were inspired by vintage french pieces. I love it.
