Seaside and Songbird
In a moment of weakness recently I treated myself to two fat quarter bundles.
The first is Seaside by October Afternoon. Available in three colorways, there are a number of great stash prints in this collection. Like the Vintage Summer prints I purchased a couple of months ago, they’re smaller in scale than some of the large prints I’m often drawn to. I have a feeling I’m going to wish I had more than a fat quarter in many of these prints. I’m dreaming of a simple beachy quilt from this bundle, especially when I look at this print:
It kind of tugs at my heart to see those children playing, perhaps because mine are beginning to exit that glorious phase and I’m not ready for it, not one bit.
The second bundle is Songbird by Carina Gardner. Also available in three colorways, this will be really fun to work with. No surprises here; I love the flowers and the birds. A very happy stack of fabric. I think my favorite is this one:
In my head I have all kinds of time to cut into these gems and make something, but in reality it might take a while. No matter, they’re sitting on my sewing table looking pretty. I’m not sure if I like them because they’re the only thing in my life that seems to be neat and tidy right now, or because they hold the promise of something wonderful when things calm down. Either way I think they’re beautiful!
I agree, this fabric is beautiful. I have it in paper! I love it too. Can’t wait to see what you do with it.
