Cousins

A few days after coming home from Denver, my sister and her family joined us for a weekend at our house.  Except for attending church, where we had 14 children sitting between a set of parents on each end of a VERY LONG row (18 chairs, to be exact), all we did was play.   It was great.  It’s so satisfying to watch cousins run together, building friendships and making memories. It was the perfect recipe for a great weekend:  lots of down time for the kids to play  and a couple of late night chats for the adults.

I managed to take my camera with us on our little walk to the park.

The weekend was as wonderful as it was fleeting.

Thanks for coming, guys!

And She’s Off!

I think if I had to choose just one thing I love most about taking children to the beach, it would be the experience of introducing a crawling baby to the wonders of endless sand and water.

From the minute we set her down, she was on a mission.  After a minute or two of playing in the sand, she headed directly for the water.

We laughed and we marveled and took pictures.  Then we ran and grabbed her.

Thankfully she was satisfied with the shallow water we let her play in.

Oh my, I love being here!
